 What makes us Unique

We Address literacy challenges holistically. Through Teaching, tutoring, advocating, and community.

Our mission is to ensure that children and teens with reading difficulties achieve reading proficiency through targeted tutoring, structured instruction, and strategic intervention.

Addressing literacy inequity requires a multi-faceted approach, including:

• Early identification and assessment
• Well-trained educators and specialists
• Evidence-based instructional practices
• Strong family and community partnerships
• Continuous support inside and outside of school

 Teaching:

Teachers are critical to literacy success, yet many lack access to specialized training. We work to strengthen literacy outcomes by:

• Supporting teacher training in evidence-based reading instruction
• Promoting structured literacy and Science of Reading practices
• Bridging the gap between research and classroom implementation
• Teach methods to identify literacy issues and learn how to asses students

Parents & guardians are also critical to literacy success outside of the classroom. We host monthly workshops that

• Help parents Foster a Love of Reading
• Support Daily Reading Habits & Methods in the household
• Teach ways to create a supportive environment
• Teach parents ways to engage with the school

 Tutoring:

High‑quality tutoring programs are one of the most effective tools schools in the United States have to close learning gaps but most families in need cannot afford such. The reading factory provides high impact tutoring at little to no cost and gives students individualized or very small‑group instruction targeted to their specific skill gaps.

• Structured Tutoring: implement, offering focused, consistent support on phonics and fluency

• Leverage Technology: Utilize evidence-based reading programs that work with disadvantaged populations, such as ReadingWise, which helps improve reading faster through structured engagement. And Orton-Gillingham

 Advocacy:

Advocating for improved reading scores in public schools is essential. Effective advocacy ensures schools implement evidence-based reading instruction, reducing the risk of students falling behind, dropping out, or facing limited future opportunities. At the reading factory we

• Engage in School Board Meetings: Attend and present to inform school boards about evidence-based approaches and hold them accountable for literacy results
• Support Teacher Development: Demand funding and time for professional learning that educates teachers in reading development strategies.

 Community

We Build Community Partnerships by connecting families to information and programs available.

• Leverage Parent Power: Form coalitions with other parents to lobby district officials for changes to literacy curriculums
• Create Engaging Environments: Build trust with families through welcoming, inclusive school events and by addressing, with empathy, the challenges of low-income environments.

 Our Philosophy: Literacy Is Justice

Justice is the foundation of our work. Learning to read is a fundamental human right and the key to educational success, opportunity, and independence.

It is unjust for students to attend school year after year without receiving the instruction they need to read proficiently. When children are promoted without mastering literacy, the system fails them—and true educational equity cannot exist.

Every struggling reader deserves immediate, evidence-based support, including:

• An individualized reading plan
• Intensive, targeted intervention
• Instruction grounded in the Science of Reading

With the right support, every child can become a confident, capable reader.

 Our Commitment

We believe reading failure is preventable. Through early intervention, structured instruction, and strong advocacy, we help students become confident, capable readers.

Literacy is the foundation for opportunity—and every person deserves that foundation.

 Our Vision

The reading factory Vision is to have our program implemented in public schools across the nation, ss an in-school program or an afterschool program. We envision having tutoring facilities where students and parents can access outside of school hours. To launch our tech friendly mobile reading buses that will service schools and communities with the biggest need.

The Reading Factory envisions a future where every child is a confident, lifelong reader and literacy is a gateway—not a barrier—to opportunity.
